 Exposure Effects Of Carbon Monoxide Gas

Classified as a chemical asphyxiant, it produces a toxic action by combining with the hemoglobin of the blood to form carboxyhemoglobin. This effect prevents the hemoglobin from taking up oxygen, thereby depriving the body of its needed oxygen.


Effects of carbon monoxide exposure can be experienced at very low concentrations as shown in the table below.
